When I send emails from my Toshiba laptop they are not reaching the intended recipient, even though when I hit the send button I receive the message that the email was successfully sent and the message shows up in my sent box. I have contacted Time Warner and they have assured me that everything is set up correctly to send and receive messages. When I log onto the internet and use the Time Warner road runner account, I can send and receive messages just fine.

Are you sure your messages aren't in your correspondents' spam or quarantine folders?

Do you have another email account? What happens if you send to this from the troubled account? (Just as a way to check that you're really sending stuff…}

I don't think they're getting caught in their spam folders, as I can't even send an email to myself. And, every once in a while a message gets through, but I'm not sure what is different when that happens; doesn't seem to make a difference whether I'm sending a new message or replying to a message from them.

HAve you asked Timewarner what they are doing with your mail after you send it? I suggest you do.

I called them back and they again told me everything at their end is working as it should and they are not blocking any of my emails. Any suggestions for what to do next?

Ask them to log you sending a mail. Refuse to accept the script monkeys assurances that "everything is working ok" it is clearly not. Insist on being connected to level two support. They are the ones that can do more than read scripts and are actually expected to know something. Those folk you get on the phone first up probably know less about computers than you do. Their job is to fob you off and pretend.
