I have firefox set to remember certain passwords and usernames. every so often i go to a site that I know has been saved or a new one and it will not install that information to the fields as is normal or won't ask to save them. When I see this I go to the three bars > Options > Security and low and behold the box to save and use saved passwords is UNCHECKED. I RE-check it and it does what i want it to do. Problem comes in later the box will be unchecked again. WHY? How do I stop it from unchecking itself?

hi, other users of trend micro security software have reported similar issues - the trend micro password manager that might be automatically installed as a separate application on your system might responsible for that behaviour. please uninstall it through your system control panel in case you have it present but are not using it.

If the above doesn't help, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
