Restored XP to an earlier system restore point, now Thunderbird won't start.
I did a restart of my XP machine, and then it hung up on the reboot. I did a system restore to a restore point that was about 2 weeks old and the machine rebooted and is working ok on that point. When I tried to start Firefox and Thunderbird, they would not load. I was able to fix Firefox and now it is working. I am now ready to see what can be done to fix Thunderbird. I do not want to loose my e-mails as some of them are very important and I don't want to loose my contact list. How do I fix Thunderbird or reinstall it without losing the e-mails, settings and contacts? The solution with Firefox was to delete the installation folder and reinstall FF and since the profiles and settings are kept in a separate folder and location I did not lose my bookmarks and other settings (I love Mozilla support). My hope is that the solution for TB is similar, or at least as easy as the FF solution. I am running Win XP Pro SP3.
