In recent days my Firefox browser will not play music from my Weebly website, gospelguitar70x7.com. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

I built the website using Firefox browser. It has functioned beautifully for two years, where users were able to play, or download, music files. Suddenly last week, when a song title is clicked on to play or download, a full screen of diamonds, question marks, and other random characters fill the page.

This problem exists on other computers using Firefox. What has changed at Firefox, and does Firefox intend to correct the problem?

Something actually might have changed on your server. It has lost track of what a .wma file is and is telling browsers it is a plain text file. Please see the attached screen shot.

Ideally, your server would send the content type audio/x-ms-wma for this type of file to inform browsers that it is Windows Media Audio. They then can use a plugin to play it, or offer a sensible download dialog.

I suspect that Weebly will need to fix this for you, since the instructions are rather technical and involve editing files that you might not have access to on the server.

Thank you so much. My server has declined to work on it and says it is a Firefox problem. But, armed with your suggestion, I will readdress it with them. I purchased my Weebly drag and drop web builder through my web server, so they retain responsibility as I understand it.

This is my first question on mozilla support. I am impressed with the quality of help. Thanks again.

I took this solution to my server and they implemented the suggested solution and that was all that was needed.

I so appreciate the way my problem was addressed so quickly here on this support forum. There are some high calibre people helping with solutions here.
