Why are all emails on server, but not on workstations using the same profile?

I use Yahoo mail, & have Thunderbird synced with it. For our office email, there are several computers set up with Thunderbird linked to this yahoo account. None of the users have all of the emails received on their computers, only about 1 week's worth. However, when I go into Thunderbird on the server, every single email we've received is there. All of these emails are not even on Yahoo mail. Is there a way that I can have all of the emails on the server appear in each workstation?

IMAP mail is synchronized, the sort of gap toothed thing you are describing woulds like a mix of IMAP on some machines (that reflect the server) and POP on others that delete the mail from the server when they download it, thus making it unavailable to the other devices.
