Your connection is not secure - And the whole thing shuts down, every site, facebook, youtube, even mozilla is NOT SECURE, and it's been doing this for two weeks and I'm sick of it.

It takes hours and hours to try to get some kind of an idea what's going on and then not one socalled solution work]s.

Now don't tell me that it's my anti virus. It's happening with all the anti viruses, and it's something mozilla changed, so offer a solution BEFORE MAKING THE CHANGES !

Hey Frank, are you using Charter Spectrum for your internet?

hi, first if you seriously looking for help then i'll expect that you tone down your language in your next reply!

since such an issue can have various individual causes, we would first need those two pieces of information:

  • what is the error code shown when you click on advanced on that error page?
  • please also give us more information about the error by clicking on the error code, copying the text to the clipboard and then pasting it here into a reply in the forum.

thank you

No to Charter Spectrum.

thanks, now please also follow up with the second part from my prior reply...

Installed Opera. Same shit.

Only thing that works is restarting the browser, not refreshing, closing it and opening it again. Both of them. I got Malawarebytes.

please copy and paste the certificate information from firefox in text form (by using the dedicated button for it) - i'm not going to transcribe the information from a screenshot...

thank you, this translates into the following certificate details which obviously aren't the ones used by facebook:

Issuer emailAddress = kiding@broadcom.com,CN = Daniel,OU = Broadband,O = Broadcom,L = Irvine,ST = Califonia,C = UA
Subject emailAddress = kiding@broadcom.com,CN = Daniel,OU = Broadband,O = Broadcom,L = Irvine,ST = Califonia,C = UA
Valid From 7 Aug 2006, 11:31 p.m.
Valid To 6 Sep 2006, 11:31 p.m.
Serial Number 00 (0)
CA Cert Yes
Key Size 1024 bits
Fingerprint (SHA-1) F9:19:33:49:C4:50:20:20:51:F0:C3:76:D6:EE:2C:26:20:41:AF:61
Fingerprint (MD5) E7:D8:E1:5B:4F:7C:23:6C:63:0C:DB:CC:28:CC:D1:BB

if you look up those details, this certificate seems to be hard-coded into a couple of routers and network devices, so this should be your first avenue looking into/addressing the issue: https://www.hotforsecurity.com/blog/4-1-million-web-hosts-are-exposing-https-and-ssh-traffic-13050.html

I don't understand.

more options

most probably your router hardware is injecting bogus certificates into your secure connections... you might want to turn off any surveillance/content filtering options there or get in contact with their support about this issue.

Only the landlord has access to the router. Could he be trying to obtain login details? Banking info etc... ? I recently came into some cash, and he knows.

more options

i'm not sure - it could also be a simple device fault. in any case if you don't have control over the network environment you're in i'd recommend using a vpn service when you access the internet, which would be securely tunnelling the traffic out of the network...

VPN would resolve this? On it. Thanks Philipp.

Apologies for ehm,.. well, you know...
