Just about every other program on the planet remembers the window setting and opens new windows in that program at the remembered setting. Firefox used to do this. But now it doesn't. I'm using version 39. Does this version have some sort of severe amnesia I wonder? I opened a new window, stretched to the maximized position then closed it (Control_W). Open a new window expecting a maximized window but no. 2/3 size like before. Anybody have a clue as to what is up with this? Do I need to cram some sort of vitamin supplement into the computer case to help it along?

Is there a reason you are using an old version? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version

You may have corrupt xulstore.json or Localstore.rdf file.

Close Firefox. Open your file browser to this hidden location:

  • Mac: *~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
  • Linux: *~/.mozilla/firefox/
  • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
  • *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\

Locate the above files. Then rename or delete them. Restart Firefox.

Hi   !
You had a similar problem before;   see:   /questions/1133028   and   (according to your system details)   you were running   Firefox version 47.0   at the time.
What happened since then   ?
