When I reply to an email, how do I make Thunderbird use the address the original email was sent to (for each account)

When I reply to an email Thunderbird does not use the email address that the email was sent to. Where do I find the setting to change. This is not a gmail account. It is my internet provider.

But presumably you have more than one account, or else it wouldn't have any choice in the matter.

Are you using POP and the Global Inbox?

Thunderbird is supposed to do exactly what you are asking for, but I always found it a bit unreliable. I use the Folder Account add-on to associate email accounts with folders, but this works best if you put in the necessary effort to file messages together according to subject or context.
