I had to install a new hard drive in my HP laptop that had Windows 10. I installed Thunderbird after repair, and I have Windows 8 now. I have data saved on USB.

I had to install a new hard drive in my HP laptop that had Windows 10. I installed Thunderbird after repair, and I have Windows 8 now. I have data saved on USB. How do I transfer from USB to Thunderbird? Or any other way? I need simplified directions , this is really not my field of expertise.

So how can we take this forward? Have you managed to identify files from your old profile?

Do a search on your USB device for a file named abook.mab - this file will be in your Thunderbird profile so will lead you to the files you need.
