TB stored archived messages in file with former server name, not email address, so that they are gone from unified folders window

When I changed servers for several email addresses, I lost from the Thunderbird unified folder window all of the archived messages for the mailboxes for which I changed servers. How can I get those archived messages back?

I see that the old messages were saved by TB in an archive folder on my machine in folders named for the old pop server, (not named for the email address), so that they still are there, but I can't get them to be accessible in TB.

If you say you can see them in an old pop mail account in your profile name folders then suggest you import them from old pop account into 'Local Folders'. note: mbox files do not have any extension.

  • .msf files of same name are only indexing files and do not contain emails.

Use this addon: ImportExportTools https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/

Right click on 'Local Folders' Use 'ImportExportTools' > 'import mbox file'

if importing just one mbox file then select the top/first option. If 'Archives' had subfolders then select the second option.
