I have multiple email accounts in Thunderbird, one POP and one IMAP. While I was struggling with a email server / password issue, I deleted the saved password (password manager) for one of my identities (POP email) and it seems to have deleted the account from the left main pane of Thunderbird including all of the saved emails/folders. The only other thing I can think I did was change the IMAP account to the default account. I never specified 'remove' or 'delete' account anywhere? The account still shows in Account Settings with all the information.

What the heck happened to my emails/folders since I only ever deleted the saved password in order to try another one? When I go to the profile folder for that account (pop) there are no emails there either. And I'm imagining that it can't be a good sign if they're missing there too. I did not delete any folders or emails.

Cheers, Nathan

If you enablel global inboxes that is the result.

Yahoo/Verizon seem to be having issues.

Sounds like your Folder Pane got turned off.

From the Menu Bar select View-Layout-Folder Pane

If your menu bar is hidden press the alt key to make it appear.

Unfortunately that wasn't it. My IMAP account is showing in the left pane and so is local folders. The other account that's vanished is a POP account with a different email address. Again, it's still showing as pop.broadband.rogers.com in account settings with everything correct, but it's not visible in the pane (gone). I went to the profile folder in windows, and it looks like the mail boxes are mostly empty files when they shouldn't be too. It really doesn't look good.

I tried to restore a previous version of prefs.js but that had no effect.

Sorry I have not seen that one. Maybe another volunteer will have an idea.

I'll attach a couple of images to help visualize it.

The main view should include the pop.broadband.rogers.com as a full account with (Inbox, Sent, Folders etc.) but only the IMAP account is visible.

I'm just verifying now, but it feels like everything has moved from the POP account to the Local Folders. I think everything is there so maybe crisis averted. I fixed the Rogers App password that was required for that POP account, but now of course I can't get the IMAP one to take. It's saying invalid even though I know it's right and I'm using up to date server settings for Rogers Yahoo.  :S

Thanks, I just noticed that Yahoo mail is having global IMAP issues which effects Rogers Yahoo's IMAP as well. It does seem to effect Thunderbird. I'm just getting a client to verify if all the emails are still there from the POP account in the local folders now. It looks promising, and all the emails are still on the Yahoo Mail side of things so we should be okay for the POP.

Yes, everything turned out okay. Somehow changing the default SMTP server for the profile moved the POP account into Local Folders. I didn't specify Global Inbox on my own. I was worried just deleting the saved password from the password manager had deleted the account entirely, but that would seem nonsensical. All is good, thanks guys and gals.
