Can you automate with full control of Thunderbird? e.g. javascript or some other language?
I'm looking for a replacement for Microsoft Outlook 2010... I used VBA to automate anything email in Outlook; is this type of automation possible with Thunderbird using JavaScript or some other language?

No.
You can do various customizations and write addons, but there is no general scripting.
What is it you wish do?
Thanks, Wayne. We use Outlook 2010 now with many macros, but cannot use MS exchange anymore. I'm looking for an email client that would have the same automation capabilities as outlook and VBA... i.e. add contacts, tasks, calendar entries, create folders, send emails with attachments, etc.
