Firefox quits every time my computer goes into sleep mode, and then I have to restart Firefox every time

I'm a Mac user and recently upgraded my OS and Firefox. But now, every time my computer goes to sleep (I have it set to go into sleep mode after 10 mins), Firefox quits, and then I have to restart it from the app/icon. None of my other apps do this. I never used to have this problem of automatically quitting -- I simply woke my computer up and Firefox was where I left off. Is there a way to change this?

Please first update Firefox to the latest version (55):

Then check to see if there are any crash reports by:

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
