I recently restarted Firefox, and there is a large, green, jigsaw puzzle piece entitled "button label". I cannot find any information on it. What is it, and what does it do? Can I delete it if I don't want it? I tried the community, but the info was unrelated. Thanks.

Right clicking it gives me the option to "Remove from Toolbar". I still don't know what it is or what it's supposed to do. It is a jigsaw puzzle piece.

Thanks anyway. Deleted it.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
