When I was using 'quick find' I simply enabled the feature in Options.... and then I started searching a word on the page displayed by simply typing the word. It seems it does not work that way any more and I have to bother to press '/' key. Ist that true or I have just missed something in the version 56. Thanks for help. Petr

Still works for me with the setting enabled in Firefox 56.

  • about:preferences: Search for search or typing

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

The System Details list next to the question shows an outdated Shockwave Flash plugin.

  • Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0
