firefox 52.4.1esr has no browser:newtab:url in about:config and overide add-on only works on version 54; how do I change it? Override add-on says only works on version 54.

Hi, you can try https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/custom-new-tab/

If it doesn't work, scroll down to Version Information and try an older version.
