Don't care about the political leaning of websites. Tried to read this article:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/19/world/canada/quebec-poutine.html

It's behind a paywall. Not cool, Firefox.

It is the New York Times Pay Wall. Has nothing to do with Pocket or Firefox. When articles come out on NYT or Washington Post they can be free and can read the whole article. After Several hours those site Admins decided to put it behind a Paywall. So when the link was posted it was valid. I do not use Pocket and this happens all the time to me also from 2nd party sites that post the link. Have read it then wanted to check something and was a few hours later and poof. So hope that explains why you hit a pay wall. Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I know how paywalls function. The problem is that Firefox is promoting websites with a paywall. I know paywalls aren't limited to Firefox and that many news sites use them. I just find it bad for a browser that claims it defends freedom on the internet to promote content that I need to pay for to read.

Again it was free when it was 1st posted. Support Volunteers can do nothing to change this.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Yeah you may have already read the number of articles on nytimes.com you get to read for free in set time or visit or however they set it up.

When I went to the nytimes.com like you posted I see "4 Articles remaining" on bottom of page. Nothing to do with Pocket.

A local paper where I am does a similar thing. They may let you read some current articles but for many they cut off rest of article saying you need a subscription either on site or account tied to newspaper subscription.
