I have just signed up to Amazon Prime, and have been watching episodes of the Grand Tour with no problem. Today a window has appeared to advise that I do not have the latest version of Firefox that supports Amazon. My automatic updates is turned on. As I said in my question, there is a prompt to click on the three horizontal bars at the top of the screen in order to proceed. but I have not got three horizontal bars on screen at all.

Hi,

please type this without the quotes in your address bar to see if you have already latest version or not. Please see the screenshot.

"about:"

If you have version 52 ESR or version 58 then you have already newest version and you can safely ignore the message about lateset version.

Alternatively you can download and install latest version of Firefox, it will automatically update in case you have older version.

That's weird, cause the 3-bar menu (the three horizontal lines) should always be there - at the right end of the navigation bar, right under the closing X.

If it isn't there, then then let's try Firefox in Safe Mode :

If Firefox is not running : Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running : Press the Alt key, which will bring up the menu bar at the upper left and click 'Help' => 'Restart with Add-ons disabled'. Then OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click 'Start in Safe Mode' ( not 'Refresh' !)

See : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Does that bring the 3-bar menu icon back  ?
