Open Unified Inbox at the top level, not at the individual Mailbox folder level

I use the Unified Folder view and when I open Thunderbird it opens in the first mainbox "below" the top level unified Inbox - i.e., the first mail account. I always have to move it back up one level to see all the Inbox messages list for all accounts.

In other words - open at the "Parent" level, not the first "child" level mailbox. I know this worked at one time and I've read all the old thread about deleting "Smart Mailgbox" etc, and nothing works.

Inbox (top Level - Parent) --- open here.

Account 1 (child level) ----not here ---- but this is where it is opening - so the list only shows messages from this account.
Account 2 (child level) --- not here
Account 3 (child level) --- not here.

Just an update - I found that this "Opening Unified Mailbox at the top level" has been working just fine on my desktop . But it would not work on the Laptop (same Windows 10 version, same Thunderbird version, same extensions & plugins).

So, I copied the profile, settings, everything I could think of, over to the Laptop. Now, it works just fine.

It works but doesn't answer the question - what was different and why? Is there an option/setting somewhere that controls which mailbox opens when starting Thunderbird?

Not a big deal now - just going to bug me for a long time.
