Broweser won't open on desktop

more options

Since the new update I have had continuous issues with my browser not opening to desktop. I have tried opening in safe mode but then the browser will slowly disappear off screen. I have tried resetting to no avail. I do not have any add-on other then the 3 that was put on by the browser itself ( Shockflash...Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google...Open H264 Video Codex). I have tried all the trouble shooting issues and nothing has worked. My last resort is to uninstall firefox and reload.

It is to a point i have to open task manager and click a program to "search online" in order f0r the Firefox window to open to my desktop. This issues is ongoing for 2 weeks now (give or take a few days).

That's really strange. The window just starts moving by itself?

Does it matter what page is displayed, or can it be any page?

Could you try:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test some sites.

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Click the Create a New Profile button, then click Next. Assign a name like April2018, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Set as default profile button below that profile, then scroll back up and click the Restart normally button. (There are some other buttons, but please ignore them.)

Firefox should exit and then start up using the new profile, which will just look brand new. For a clean test, ignore suggestions that you might want to activate extensions.

Does Firefox stay on screen in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, open the about:profiles page again, click the Set as default profile button for your normal profile, then click the Restart normally button to get back to it.

When I start in "Safe Mode" the browser literally slowly disappears off the screen from left to right as f it was was being rolled up or slowly deleted.

I tried what you suggested me to do but that did not work.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled and that too did not work. I'm starting to think it might be a Windows Defender interference issue.

As i said, it began "After" i did the latest update

Did you do a clean reinstall and deleted the Firefox program folder?

You can try the 32-bit Firefox version to see if that works better.

How do I save my bookmarks before I try this suggested step

You can create a "backup" and an "export" in case Firefox doesn't rediscover your old settings folder automatically. These articles have the steps, and I do recommend creating both formats "just in case":
