Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla from with in Firefox before posting a question. This helps us help you. I have no info from your system that would help see things that cause issues.

SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

i am not a techie. i am just a guy that uses a computer. why should i have to do any of the things listed?? i turn to IE or chrome and things fly. i prefer firefox but all of a sudden it just drags. nothing has changed on my computer, no new add ons....etc. i run several scans and keep my machine clean including clearing the cache.....it should just work!!!

Hi, if you prefer doing nothing that is fine. As for it should just work well the answer is it's a computer program and things happen like a corrupted file, malware that needs a malware scanner to fix things and not a anti-virus scan.

So you need to decide what you would like to do to continue using Firefox. Support Volunteers will be around to help you when you decide. Thank You.

as i mentioned before....i run avg anti virus, ccleaner, malwarebytes, spybot s&d and sophos virue removal tool.

i spend a lot of time on facebook and from what i am reading...i am not the only one having this problem!! but, of course, you would not no it because you no longer "monitor" your facebook page!!

so i would say it's not my computer!!!

Hi, you did not mention before that you had run all those programs.

i run several scans and keep my machine clean including clearing the cache....
I would never have asked you to do that as would have been redundant.
as i mentioned before....i run avg anti virus, ccleaner, malwarebytes, spybot s&d and sophos virue removal tool.

As for Facebook Support not monitoring the page, I know nothing of that as I do not Volunteer there. If you have anything to share you can ask or post here : Feedback: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/

Ok, so it is not your computer. But it is your Firefox that is not working properly and there is no correlation between Chrome or IE if Firefox is slow. Did you try the suggestion for safe mode ? Have you looked at this :

Am trying my best to offer you the support you asked for.

Hi, well will need to turn a little techie to fix this as browser are no longer a simple thing to work on as of old. Please try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st:

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
