Customize "Upload File" Window on Linux
When uploading a file using Firefox on Linux (Kubuntu 16.04 LTS), the Upload File window looks like the attached image. My concern is about the area framed in the red rectangle, above the folder view.
On Windows, it is possible to type the path to the file location in this area, but not on Linux. Is there any way to change this?
I asked a similar question about the Save File window (see link below), but the solution does not apply to the Upload File window.

I have an "Enter Location" item in the sidebar that opens an input field.
I see an "other location" item in your screenshot.
Did you try that item?

Yes. It shows a list of locations with only the root in it. I attached a screenshot.

I don't know if it's me who'e using it wrong, but the feature to type directory names doesn't seem to be working.

I get the same window on any website where I can upload a file: my emails, Facebook, this forum, etc.
I'm wondering why it is not possible to simply replace the area framed in red on my first screenshot by a field where we can type a path, like in Chrome or in the Windows version of Firefox.
