I can no longer send an email using Thunderbird. The send button is not highlighted.

Everything is working fine in Thunderbird except that I can no longer send an email. The send button is not highlighted and nothing happens when I press it. Can you please provide solutions step by step so that I can continue to use Thunderbird which I really like.

The Send button is not active until you add an address into one of the address fields.
