I do not have a second device so what do I do instead

I do not have a cell phone for a second device. I found that a cell phone is of no value to me and is too expensive. I only have a land line with no display.

Then don't use Sync, which is optional. Sync is for those users who do have multiple devices that run Firefox and those users want to synchronize their Firefox data.
