The drop down arrow is now gone in update 75. Is there an option to bring it back? Clicking on the URL is NOT the same thing.

被選擇的解決方法

It is likely that all or most browser.urlbar.update1 prefs are gone in Firefox 77 if the new design has been finished and is ready for release.

The changes in width and height can easily be reverted via userChrome.css like posted in the above linked forum post.

Note that these width/height changes are merely directed to touch screen users to make it easier to work with the location bar, but if you use a desktop computer then you wouldn't need them and they interfere with other elements.

I put a fix for this on here a day or two ago. It should be on this forum somewhere.

I would just love to know what purpose was served by removing the arrow. The fact that people have to "fix" something that Firefox has done, apparently intentionally, is mystifying.

The new design opens the history drop-down list automatically if you click to set focus to the location/address bar, so a special arrow button is no longer required. You can set in "Options/Preferences -> Home" what Top Sites content you want to appear as a suggestion (applies to the Firefox Home page and to the location bar drop-down suggestions).

You can type a '^' to initiate a history search (match) in the location bar.

Who knows. It's probably the main reason I never switched to Chrome. No idea why they would get rid of it.

Either way, here's your solution if you haven't found one yet.

Try This:

1. Go to address bar, type: about:config

2. Confirm that you will be careful

3. Search for the following preferences and set them all to FALSE

           1. browser.urlbar.openViewOnFocus
           2. browser.urlbar.update1
           3. browser.urlbar.update1.interventions
           4. browser.urlbar.update1.searchTips
           5. browser.urlbar.update1.view.stripHttps

4. Close and restart the Firefox browser and hopefully your address arrow should be back on the right hand side of the address bar.

If, as you say, this bug cannot be fixed in future versions, I will move away from firefox. And so will many others.

What ist the reason to make this extra complicated?

Thanks to everyone for the responses! Editing in about:config did the trick!

Thanks again!
