I know there a quite a few os this same question, but they're old and none of their solutions work.

I have checked Block Audio and Video Autoplay in my settings, but Firefox does not block them. Audio block seems to work sometimes but video block never does.

This is extremely annoying and I need help.

Thanks.

It seems to happen mostly on Yahoo news pages. I haven't noticed it on any other sites because that's the only one that I go to with video embedded in their pages.

Yes, I think that is one of those stubborn ones that might require an add-on to tame. I don't have any specific recommendations, though.

Also, I clicked on the link above that you told me to ignore (before I got to your comment about ignoring it). That's not going to do anything, is it?

I think the link was just advertising, but I didn't visit it myself, so... let's hope not!

Hi maya, please ignore that fake support link.

Hi maya, are there particular sites where you notice this problem?

Firefox's built-in feature is mainly directed at pages that try to start playing audio or video immediately after the page loads. Some pages trigger the video after another action such as a click or perhaps scrolling, and this bypasses the blocker. On sites like that, you might need to use an add-on that handles the other situations.

I did visit another site that I remember has embedded video and it seemed to block it, so it does just seem to be Yahoo. So I'll look into an add-on for Yahoo, then. Thank you for the help!
