I accidentally deleted a single bookmark in a folder in my Toolbar.

So I created a restore point just in case, and then used the restore feature.

So when I restored my bookmarks, it froze firefox.

So I restarted and it restore everything except the toolbar.

The Bookmarks Toolbar is there, it's just empty, and all my extremely important bookmarks in the toolbar just don't exist. I even confirmed that they're gone by adding new things to the Bookmarks Toolbar, every bookmark in it is gone, with all the folders.

I am a designer and these were super important to me, please help, all my internet searches are extremely unhelpful, since they just say to restore, or check if the toolbar is being displayed(it is), the specific bookmarks in the toolbar are gone...

hello,

This article explains how to export your bookmarks to an HTML file, which can be used as a backup or for importing into another web browser.

For instructions specific to these other browsers, see Export bookmarks to Internet Explorer , Export bookmarks to Opera and Export bookmarks to Safari.

1 .Click the Library button 57 library icon on your toolbar. (If you don't see it there, click the menu button fx57menu then click Library.) Click Bookmarks and then click the Show All Bookmarks bar at the bottom.

2. From the toolbar on the Library window, click Import and Backup and choose Export Bookmarks to HTML...

3. In the Export Bookmarks File window that opens, choose a location to save the file, which is named bookmarks.html by default. The desktop is usually a good spot, but any place that is easy to remember will work.

4. Click the Save button. The Export Bookmarks File window will close. Close the Library window.

5. Your bookmarks are now successfully exported from Firefox. The bookmarks HTML file you saved is now ready to be imported into another web browser.

hello, ajmes

sorry for previous solution

i hope given instruction resolve your problem

It is possible that "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" is no longer on the Bookmarks Toolbar.

Make sure toolbars like the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible. Open the Customize window and set what toolbars (Show/Hide Toolbars) and toolbar items to display.

Right-click empty toolbar area -> Customize "3-bar" menu button -> Customize View -> Toolbars

  • you can tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar

check that "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar if "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize palette to the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar if missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window to the toolbar if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the Restore Defaults button in the Customize palette window to restore the default toolbar set.

I hope resolve your problem then reply back to me .

Thank you

I specifically said that's not the problem.

My Toolbar Bookmarks were deleted after I used the restore point.

I am aware of it being able to become 'hidden'.

That is not the issue at all...

Bookmarks Toolbar = Empty

The bookmarks contained therein are gone...

This was AFTER I used the restore bookmarks function in Import/Backup.

The Menu Bookmarks are all there, but all my toolbar ones are completely missing.

They are not still bookmarked anywhere, I am missing many.

Hello,

Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.

  1. Click the Bookmarks button and select Show All Bookmarks.
  2. At the top of the Library window, click on Import and Backup and select Restore.
  3. Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
  4. In the new window that appears, click OK.
  5. Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.

For more information, see the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article. For other solutions, see the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Does anyone here actually read this?

Not to sound ungrateful, but I already explained all these things several times...

Note that you can use "Organize -> Undo" (CTRL+Z) in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) to undo any bookmarks changes done during the current session (i.e. you lose the undo stack once you close Firefox), so in a lot of cases there is no need to panic.
