VIEW item not seen listed under options tab in menu bar in my newly downloaded firefox7.8.1 64 bit

Dear Thunderbird Team, I have the thunderbird version 7.8.1 64 bit down loaded a couple of days ago.' I cannot find the LAYOUT' tab under OPTIONS under MENU. On close scrutiny I found the view pane in CLASSIC VIEW by pulling the bottom line of message list up. This was the default setting.

All web sites and your support site says to change it to classic/wide/vertical using - OPTIONS > LAYOUT> classis/vertical/wide VIEWS. But, unfortunately I cannot see and tab named LAY OUT.

I want to change to other options like VERTICAL/WIDE view, as shown in the picture below.

I will be most obliged if you could please let me know how to do this.

Click the 3-bar menu icon at the upper right, Customize, Layout. Or, press Alt to show the Menu Bar, then View/Layout.

Thanks a lot buddy. I am of the older generation and was looking for this LAYOUT button for the past couple of days. You answer was right to the point and 100% accurate. The help section and various internet answers were saying that the lay out is under the OPTIONS. Now that you have clarified it is under CUSTOMIZE, I found it and changed my layout successfully. @FIREFOX TEAM, I would request FIREFOX to provide correct information in their help section. One again my sincere thanks
