Hi David, updating is built-in to Firefox. You either can keep the default setting of updating automatically, or request notification that an update is available. To check for updates immediately, there's a button on the Options page. Either:

You can check that here:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the search box at the top of the page, type update and Firefox will filter the page. In the Firefox Updates section, click the "Check for updates" button.

Does that work?
