According to the Distribution Policy for Mozilla Software found here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/foundation/trademarks/distribution-policy/ if you make any changes to Firefox you may not redistribute that with any Mozilla trademark.

Is there any way to remove the Mozilla logos and names from a custom installer to make it that you don't use any Mozilla trademark? Without this ability, it appears that it would not be permitted to redistribute your custom installer without seeking special permission from Mozilla which I can't imagine they want to give, am I right?

Thank you in advance

This article has some hints on branding forks of Firefox. I haven't tried to look up the documentation on the various parameters they mention.

Thank you.

Is there any way to do this while working with a custom installer while not working with a fork of the full firefox?

I am following the instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/repackaging-windows-installer regarding customizing the installer, and not working with a fork of the full source.

Perhaps a fork is the only way to change the branding?

Hmm, I wonder what changes cross the line from configuring Firefox to modifying it? I suggest contacting the legal department because it's not something the support forum can advise on either way.

Maybe use that trademark-permissions@mozilla.com address.

They say that adding an extension which is the main thing I am trying to do is considered modifying it. But I will try to reach out and see if they have any other resources or perhaps they will give me the permission, but I would doubt it.

Thank you!
