Multiple tabs closing instead of just one

more options

Hi there,

I am using Firefox 93.0. Sometimes, if I have opened multiple tabs from a single tab (for example, I am on the homepage of a news site and open multiple articles in new tabs), when I close the original tab all of the new tabs I opened from there close as well.

Is there any way I can stop this from happening? I only want the tab I close to close, and for the rest to remain open.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sounds like you are clicking the red close button to close the window and not the close X on a specific tab. You can also close a tab via the right-click context menu or via a middle-click with the mouse wheel if your mouse has this feature.

Hmm, I don't think closing related or child tabs is a built-in feature. Do you use any tab-related add-ons?

No definitely not closing the window. I had Tree Style Tab installed, so I've removed that now. Hopefully that will solve the problem! Thanks
