I have a Thunderbird account. I have been told by AOL that they will no longer support my email. I am to delete the Thunderbird account and then set up a new one. My question is will my archived mail be transferred to my new account?
I have a Thunderbird account. I have been told by my carrier that they will no longer support this account unless I delete it and set up a new Thunderbird account. My question is will my archived email be transferred to the new account? Thank you

Verizon accounts require app passwords, that are created on the AOL website. Remove the account passwords from Saved Passwords in Preferences/Privacy & Security, restart TB, enter the app password when prompted.
For pop.verizon.net and smtp.verizon.net, use 'normal password' authentication with the app password.

No, you don't. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-faq#w_what-is-my-thunderbird-email-address

Since there is no such thing as a 'Thunderbird account', this doesn't make sense. What exactly have you been told by AOL?
My question is will my archived email be transferred to the new account?
It's rather unlikely that the existing account needs to be deleted.
What is your account type anyway - POP or IMAP?
My account type is pop.verizon.net. My TB version is 91.3.0

Thanks for your help! I will use the password each time I start TB.
