Hello, I am a longtime thunderbird user, and use it for my work email account. Over the years they have changed to Microsoft Exchange Online (O365) but I have stubbornly held on to thunderbird. But the recent update to their server has created huge problems and I need your help. The specific change that has led to the problem is to change the authentication procedure which required me to go to account actions, delete the account and re-add, everything was supposed to work fine. Except it isn’t. I can share screenshots and explain more. (has to do with entering the right things under incoming server and outgoing server, but what the instructions say and what thunderbird actually display are in conflict) Any help is greatly appreciated (my institution no longer offers thunderbird support, so I have nowhere else to go)! Thanks, Anu Annaswamy

Does the Exchange Online server still support POP/IMAP/SMTP protocols? If so, you can use manual account setup, but you'll need to know the correct server settings. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manual-account-configuration If not, Thunderbird should offer to install the Owl add-on (or installs it automatically). In that case there is nothing you can configure, it should all work automatically. Note, Owl is not free. In case of problems you may contact the add-on author.
I can share screenshots and explain more.

That would probably be helpful.
