Thunderbird crashes at startup.

After installing the latest update 91.0.9 (I think), TB starts, shows my 'folders' in the left column and 'event's in the right column, then, instead of showing the selected email folder, an hourglass appears for a few seconds and then nothing. I've sent multiple crash reports. I tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. I've used TB for 10+ years on both PC n MAC - first time it's left me high and dry. HELP !!

More information: I restored a working copy of my XXXXXX.profile directories and I still get the same problem. 1. Is there a tool that can help determine what is going wrong by verifying the XXXXXX.profile. Do I need to create a new profile? What about the ~18k emails in multiple email account ?? 2. Do I need to restore more than just the profile to make it work?
