I have an older version of Firefox because I've had the problem on a previous phone of the updates deleting all of my information. Now I'm trying to switch to a new phone and I can't get Sync to work with this version. Apparently it's impossible to back anything up and I'm worried that updating to the new one will delete everything again. Any information on that? Also any other suggestions, or is all my information just going to be lost?

Hi

What is the version number of the copy of Firefox for Android that you have installed on your device?

That looks like a Firefox 68.9.0 version if I check the System Details. When I updated to the Quantum version when 68 was discontinued then I didn't have any issues apart from the passwords that weren't imported due to missing Primary Password support that got fixed in an update.

You can try to connect to a Sync account as on mobile that is the only way to backup profile data, but keep in mind that syncing history is limited.

That's right it is 68.9.0, which is assume why I can't get Sync to work. It's there another way to get to it other than the Settings/Sign In route? Whenever I do that it just opens a page that never loads.

Hi

I understand that Firefox Sync is not working correctly in Firefox for Android 68, but to be fair it is almost two years since that was last supported.

I appreciate that this option is not great for lots of data, but you could copy and paste it to a Google Doc that you could then open on a new device.
