How do I set a new tab to open with my chosen homepage?

more options

I recently had to reinstall firefox due to a few issues. Before the reinstall, when I opened a new tab it would open as my home page. After I reinstalled it, I was able to set up my homepage URL but there is no option for new tabs to open wth the same page. The only options for new tabs are blank page or the default firefox homepage. This was never an issue before the reinstall.

How do I fix this? Has the option been moved somewhere else?

Hi diskguy35, Are you sure you weren't using an extension to do that?

I doubt it, I have been using firefox for several years and I don't remember installing any extensions, I just remember typing in my chosen homepage and every tab opened with that page. Surprises me that there is no built in option for this given that it is a feature in every other web browser I have used, but I will take a look at the extension anyway.

Thanks for the help.

Since version 41, Firefox requires an extension (supported) or a startup script hack (unsupported) to customize your new tab page options.
