Firefix window minimizing after 1 minute

more options

Just purchased HP Pavilion Windows 11 machine. After 1 minute of not touching keyboard/mouse (reading, watching), the Firefox window minimizes/disappears. The computer doesn't sleep, just the FF browser minimizes. I've extended the "Sleep" times for the laptop and I've Firefoxed the "about:config - browser.blahblah - false - restart" suggestions I've found online, but Firefox still minimizes after 1 minute. I read a lot so there are frequent 1 minute+ periods. This is getting irritating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dave, I haven't heard of this before and it wouldn't make sense as a Firefox feature.

Is it only your active Firefox window that minimizes down to the Task bar -- everything else that's on the screen stays exactly where it was? Or all Firefox windows minimize? Or all windows minimize (similar to Show Desktop, Windows key + M or Windows key + D)?

Is there any pattern to which websites are active when you experience this?

Interesting. You are correct in that it isn't firefox. The "Settings" screen and the taskbar also disappeared. So appears to be a Windows/HP issue. I've reset all the sleep features but it is still happening. Thanks for your reply. I'm not very tech savvy so I'll pay closer attention before asking for advice next time!

The Taskbar also disappears? That is very strange. You might also check the power management settings.

Just a follow-up: I found the correct setting. It wasn't lock screen. It wasn't computer sleep settings. It wasn't anything with Firefox. It was screen saver settings. All of these in different locations. I just wish sometimes that, especially for most of us who are tech illiterate, these systems weren't so overly complicated...

Are there still screensavers in 2022? I forgot about them!
