I have 377 gigs of cache as found in TreeSize. Calculating side data and cache size has been "running" for 2 hours and has not populated a size so that the "clear data" field will light up. I just want to delete the "cached web content" but not erase my history. Is my cache so large I need to let it calculate overnight? Thanks.

The disk cache is stored in the cache2 folder in the secondary profile location in "AppData\Local", see the about:cache and the about:profiles pages. So checking the size of this folder should immediately give you its size.

Note that in PB mode the disk cache isn't used, but you may still see listed what is stored in the cache2 folder.

You can also clear the disk cache via "Clear Recent History" (Ctrl+Shift+Delete), make sure to unckeck items you want to keep.

Hi and thanks for the reply. I might be chasing the wrong data to delete. I went to history, selected cache and "everything. About:cache shows this:

Information about the Network Cache Storage Service memory Number of entries: 3 Maximum storage size: 32768 KiB Storage in use: 95 KiB Storage disk location: none, only stored in memory List Cache Entries

I ran TreeSize after a restart and my 377GB of AppData stayed the same (see attachment). Somewhere there use to be a screen that said I have 467GB of cache - no idea where it went. Should I be doing something different to reduce AppData? What reason would there be for Firefox to be at 377gb? Thanks.

You would have the expand all folders in the Firefox folder to see where this large value is coming from as you may have more Firefox profiles or this is not about the cache2 folder.

Hi and thanks for the prompt reply. I'm not a computer guy and appreciate the help. The reason why I went to TreeSize (which I had never heard of) was because the 377GB file is hidden. TS revealed it. I cannot get Firefox "clear data" to light up because it will never show how the "cookie and site data" amount. Even with it empty, it still won't show there are 3 photos in it. Where do I find these 377GB files in a folder if Firefox can't show me? In TreeSize, it just looks like they are thousands of photos that are 1 meg in size. I don't need them cached. I just need to get rid of them. Deleting everything in history didn't move the number in TreeSize a bit. Thanks for any tips!
