I can strongly recommend using the Mycroft Project page for pretty much any search engine that you want to find and add - simply search for Lycos on Mycroft, and add the one you want from the list of results.

Use the Mycroft Advanced Search page to narrow down the list easily to get results like this: English search engines with name "lycos" :)

And I think they do, as a matter of fact - the Mycroft Project is also a Mozilla site. As to why this is not announced on AMO in big bold letters under the search engines, I'm not sure - but you could suggest it to the AMO team, they're always open to suggestions I'm sure. :-)
