I'm transferring my Firefox profile to my new mac from my old mac. I foolishly deleted the profile that firefox created on the new mac. So I can't open firefox now cause it already thinks it's open. Please help.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

I deleted the profile.

If you deleted profile folders then you need to delete profiles.ini as well to force Firefox to create a new default profile. If the profile that is listed in profiles.ini as Default=1 is missing then you get the error message that Firefox is already running. You should always use the Profile Manager to remove profiles, whether you want to keep profile data or not to avoid problems.

It is better to copy only data that you really need from an old profile to a new profile and not copy a complete profile folder. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox

Profiles.ini should be here: /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
