how do I remove a theme from the bottom status bar?

more options

this evening when I started Firefox, it updated the themes/persona. Normally, this is not a problem, but this time, the scene has been applied to the bottom status bar, as well. I've used personas for a while, but the bottom bar has always been a pale grey. Now it is part of the persona and although it looks great, it essentially works as a narrow stripe and narrow stripes can trigger migraines for those of us who live with them. Which it promptly did.

Is there any way for me to disable the persona on the bottom status bar while keeping it along the top? I'd hate to go back to the default - it's sort of boring after having fun with the personas, but I can't have Firefox triggering migraines everyday.

All you have to do is go to "View" and uncheck Status Bar, and it will go away.

I don't think they want the status bar to be hidden just the theme to not affect it. At least that's what I am looking for I cant read link locations anymore, but I want to keep my theme for my toolbar.

Set the pref lightweightThemes.persisted.footerURL to false on the about:config page. That will give you the default colors for that persona on the status bar as specified in the pref lightweightThemes.usedThemes (accentcolor and textcolor).

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Add this line to your userChrome.css file without quotes:

" #status-bar {-moz-appearance: statusbar !important;} "
