System description: ThinkPad T61, Windows 7 X64 with both Firefox 3.6 and 4.0 beta installed.

Now both version of Firefox won't show their GUI when I start them but the "firefox.exe *32" process is running.

I tried to clean up all the customize information about the firefox, uninstall both of them and reinstall the 3.6, but the GUI still won't show up.

Did you create a new profile for the Firefox 4.0 beta version?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager

If you use the same profile for both versions then create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
