I am trying to find the software conflict that's causing a blue screen at start-up, a problem I had with my old drive till it finally crashed.
I am running Windows XP SP3 and Earthlink Protection Control Center with the new hard drive and get the blue screen again. Firefox can't cause a BSOD. Only software that runs at kernel level can cause such errors. Security software (anti-virus, firewall) that runs as a service and kernel drivers for devices like display and mouse can cause such issues.
