How does "cntl F", "find" work? nothing happens when I hit cntl F or click on find in the edit menu

Upon displaying a web site after a search, I want to look for the word or phrase in the displayed page/s and in IE I just hit cntl F or find from the edit menu. It shows in the edit menu, but nothing happens when I use either method.

Does the Find Bar not show at the bottom of the Firefox window as shown in the following?

In addition to your question, your list of plugins indicates that you have installed plugins with known security issues. You should keep your plugins updated.
