1)Firefoz used to ask me if I wanted computer to remember passwords for emails etc...now it no longer asks if I enter new site with new passwords 2) firefox also no longer remembers my passwords - I must type in each time to each site. 3) I did try to reset it by going into "options" on tools; i marked remember cookis, still when I close firefox it cancels the lot. I did follow all instructions given on the various help pop-up-pages. SO WHAT HAS CHANGED?? I did not click on anything new or did anything different to what I normally did. SO: plese help to reset: - firefox asking again if i want to remember it new passwords; - make sure all my regularly used sites remember all paswords. many thanks,

  • Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
  • You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
  • Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Uncheck: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
