Something strange has recently started happening when I compose messages in Gmail. I tried to submit a question about this in a Gmail help forum, but the same thing happened when I tried to enter text there, which made me think that rather than being a problem with Gmail alone, it was some kind of conflict between Gmail and Firefox. What happens is that apparently a ton of invisible characters and/or possibly tables of some kind are being added at the end of text I enter. In emails, this shows up as a ton of blank lines, spaces and missing-image icons. In the Gmail help forum, I was told that my entry was over 8000 characters, even though I had only entered less than 1000. Can anyone tell me what the f is going on here?

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?

Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

If not, see this:

If so, try creating a new Profile:

Thanks! That worked like a charm.
