The mouse moves just fine on any given website but when I go to the top of the browser to use any functions like bookmarks or the back arrow it doesn't move smoothly it's jumpy.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

In Firefox 4 Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

It's been a while since your post, but thank you for your help. I finally worked on it and it was the appearance that was causing the trouble. Thanks again!
