I will answer your question, but first, would you mind dropping your CU an email? They may be frustrating a LOT of customers and would want to know about it, I'm sure.

To roll back to 3.6:

First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see Backing up your information.

Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older

Close Firefox 4, and uninstall it. Do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.

Then finally you can reinstall Firefox 3.6. Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, it should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

Also have trouble with credit union site - no menu at side. I use Mac OS 1o.5.8, Firefox 3.6.27. Credit Union (CU) says Firefox doesn't permit sidebar menu, but thst other browsers do. Problem showed up only 2 days ago. With no menu, CU site not really useful, so I must use Safari to conduct transactions. I don't know whether this is a change in Firefox or in the CU software, but the CU (ornlfcu.com) is aware of the"glitch".

@glennhaste, the public pages I visited seem identical in IE8 and Fx10, but you may be referring to a part of the site that requires logging in (impossible for non-customers to view).

Since the problem is so recent, can you recall any changes you made in Firefox, or are you aware of any changes your CU made on its site?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

Firefox > Preferences > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here

While viewing a page on the site, "right-click" and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies" (Sorry, I don't know how you right-click on a Mac)

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
