block images in 1 click in 4.0
In 3.x I discovered and actively used the feature [right click on image]-Block images from [web site]. My screen was kept clean of annoying ads, especially animated gifs. Now that I upgraded one of my PCs to 4.0 it's nowhere to be found. To block images, I have to open image info, copy the address, and paste it going through Tools-Options menu. Even though I like 4.0 in general, most likely I'll postpone the upgrade on other boxes, and probably revert to 3.x the one already upgraded. Is there any chance to get the image blocking feature in future release of 4.x? Troubleshooting info will not help - this is being typed on the PC not yet upgraded.

There is a check box to block images in Tools > Page Info > Media that opens if you choose Image Info via the right-click context menu, so that is two clicks to block images and an extra click to close the window (or press ESC).
That's exactly why I complain - 3 clicks instead of one in previous versions. Hope the developers will notice this post and bring back the feature. Or was it removed deliberately because of advertiser's complaints?
It was removed because a lot of people either clicked that item by accident or did it thinking that they only blocked one specific image and didn't realize that all images from that domain got blocked. We see a lot of people having blocked images from Facebook.
- Bug 514739 - Remove "Block images from www.site.com"
It was not a bug, it was a feature - and a valuable one, allowing to keep ads at bay. Actually it would be good to add also something like "block streaming media from www.site.com" to block flash-based ads. And for idiots... pardon me, users, there's should be something like "simplified browsing mode".

This add-on kinda sorta solves it. However I'd rather have this feature natively than install an add-on, especially an experimental one, that may be found incompatible when FF gets updated to higher version. Is it too much to ask for to bring it back in future FF release?
The add-on fixes the problem, but the feature should never have been removed in the first place. I know the add-on exists, but it's a royal pain to have to find, download, and install it and then restart the browser on every system that I have to use. I agree with the earlier post -- they should've created a "simplified mode" for the clue-challenged.
You can create a bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar to open the about:permissions page to manage the exceptions from the current domain, but if images are on a different domain then you can only block them via the right-click context menu > View Page Info link easily.
