When I try to open Firefox, I am told it is already open and must be closed to continue. Ihave tried control, alt, delete to no avail.

When I try o open Firefox, I receive a message that it is already running and I need to close it. It is not running that I can see. I have tried ctrl,alt,delete to no avail.
